IDv4 - The Digital Identity Company #
The internet has always been built in layers. The data plane carries packets. The control plane manages traffic. But the internet was never given a native identity plane - a way to verify who, or what, you are interacting with.
This missing layer has shaped the digital landscape we live in: difficulty distinguishing real from fake, the erosion of trust online, fraud and impersonation as ambient costs of doing business. For most of the internet’s history, this was a problem we could route around.
The arrival of autonomous AI agents has changed that. AI didn’t create the identity problem. It made it un-ignorable.
IDv4 exists to build the identity plane for the agent era - for humans, for the autonomous agents that now act with human-like judgment and no human reviewing each step, and for the content that flows between them.
What we’re building now #

What we’re thinking about #
- History of Digital Identity - how we got here
- Identity in the Age of AI - where it breaks
- Prevention vs. Observability - why watching agents isn’t governing them
- Aegis - what we’re shipping
